Frequently Asked Questions

  •  What is the format of the event (in-person, online, or hybrid)?

    • The event will be held in hybrid format, with keynote speakers lecturing online and poster presenters presenting in person. Attendees can select between attending in person or online in the registration form.

 

  • How can I register for the event?

    • Participants need to register for the event via the registration portal and select whether they want to join online or in person.

 

  • Do I need to submit an abstract to attend the Symposium?

    • No, it is not mandatory to submit an abstract for attending the Symposium.

 

  • Where is the event being held?

    • The event will be held at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran.

 
  •  When is the event taking place?

    • The event will take place on 2nd and 3rd March 2023 / 11th and 12th Isfand 1401.

 

  • How can I submit an abstract for the Symposium?

    • You can submit an abstract using abstract submission portal. The one who wants to submit an abstract should register in person for the symposium.
 

  • The accepted abstracts will be published in which journal?

    • Accepted abstract will be Published by Frontiers.
 

  • Can one present a poster online?

    • No, all the poster presentations should be in person.
 

  • Is it possible to submit an abstract for the event which is already submitted to other journals?

    • Yes, abstract submission is possible even if the abstract is submitted to other journals. 

 

  • How can I access the live stream of the event?

    • The event will be streamed real time and the link will be shared with the attendees a few days before the event date.

 

  • Is there any accommodation provided for out of town attendees?

    • No, we don’t provide any accommodation.

 

  • Will participants receive a certificate of attendance?

    • Yes, all participants will be given an official certificate of attendance for the Sharif Neuroscience Symposium.
 

  • Will the recorded videos of the lectures be available after the event?

    • We will share the recorded videos of the event with the participants, but only after obtaining permission from the keynote speakers.
 

  • What is the format of the workshops (in-person, online, or hybrid)?

    • All of the workshops will be held online.

 

  • Is there any financial help for the workshops’ registration fee?

    • If you have financial problems and cannot afford the workshop registration fees, but you are interested in participating in them, send your reasons to the farrokh.karimi@ipm.ir so that a discount will be applied if possible.
 

  • Will meals be provided for in-person attendees? 

    • No, there will be no meal provided for in-person attendees, but they will be served by cafe and snacks. There would be food shops where attendees can buy food for reasonable prices.
 

  • How can I register for the workshops? 

    • You can find the registration links of the workshops on this page. After clicking on the registration link of the desired workshop, you will be redirected to the relevant registration portal and you can register there.
 

  • Are the workshops entirely in Farsi?

    • Yes, all the workshops are in Farsi.
 

  • How to participate in the workshop sessions? 

    • Information on this matter will be emailed to you the night before the first session of the workshop.
 

  • Is there any discounts for the workshops? 

    • If you are a student or have a serious financial problem but you are interested in participating in the workshops, please send an email to farrokh.karimi@ipm.ir, so if possible, you can get a further discount.
 

  • Who are the organizers of the symposium?

    • The symposium is directed by Professor Ali Ghazizadeh and organized by a group of volunteer students of Sharif University of Technology.
